Mr. Ms. & the Infusions - “Rebellion Song”

The fourth single from Mr. Ms. & the Infusions’ first concept album, Stick to Singing, is titled “Rebellion Song.” The album expertly blends various punk, reggae, and folk genres, and socially conscious reflections abound throughout the record.

Rebellion Song” is a fantastic example of Americana. There is definitely a sense of "the American West" about it. The vocal is magnificent and full of melody and range. It lifts us up and carries us with a genuine sense of truth. And its mix has a nice roughness to it, yet still leaves it like honey.

The supporting vocals are also excellent. The drums and acoustic guitar, which brilliantly generate movement and groove, truly drive the song along. With a clean amp setup, the electric guitar produces some amazing licks and luscious chords. “Rebellion Song” delivers an entertaining song structure and has some creative, dynamic shifts.

The lyrics emphasize income inequality and are loaded  - "It's our minimum rage that keeps us in this moving cage…"

The artist says “After years of touring the States, Japan, UK and EU in different bands, songwriter Stubhy Pandav was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (thus "Mr. Ms." pronounced Mr. Mizz) and life changed, dramatically. During quarantine he started writing songs that were heavily influenced by protest folk, reggae and punk rock about living with MS and the sociopolitical turmoil that he saw around him living in a turbulent Chicago. The songs started coming together and he realized a concept album was, naturally, being written.”

For fans of Rebelution and Frank Turner.
