Meyru - “Georgia Says”

From New York City, indie rock outfit Meyru arrive on our blog upon the release of “Georgia Says.”

Meyru have made good on their promise of some big, coming-of-age movie vibes with this one. From the moment you press the play button, “Georgia Says” enters the ears via some wide and reverberating guitar chords, with the vocal performance beginning immediately. The ensuing sound should capture the interest of those who frequent the catalogues of Peach Pit, Soccer Mommy, Wallows, Her‘s, and/ or The Backseat Lovers.

By the twenty-second mark, the rest of the band arrives, bringing a head-bopping, toe-tapping rhythm that is bound to find its way into all those playlists reserved for road-tripping. “Georgia Says“ is steeped in a thick sheen of nostalgia-inducing analogue flavor and we became fans of it extremely quickly. With epic falsettos galore and multi-layered guitars, we have a feeling that you’re going to love every second of its two-minute-and-twenty-four-second runtime.

The band adds that the song is “a story of a long love gone awry and contemplates the notion of trying again. We envision this being the type of song that fit in well in a coming of age movie soundtrack.” “Georgia Says” is now available everywhere and we truly cannot wait for you to hear it.
