Kid Tigrrr - “Wolf”
From Cleveland, Ohio, singer-songwriter Jenna Fournier, aka Kid Tigrrr, returns to our blog with the dreamy and intimate sounds of “Wolf.”
Stripped back and ethereal, “Wolf” allows the listener to quietly drift away amidst an acoustically-driven arrangement. The notes from the guitar wonderfully intertwine with the ambience of swirling synth tones, creating a wide and spacious sonic landscape, perfect for those essential moments of introspection and rejuvenation.
As per usual, Fournier’s vocal performance is unscathed by lavish digital production, which allows her voice to enter the ears in a raw, breathy, and emotionally-charged manner. And if you’ve been keeping up with our blog, you’ll already know that this brand of soothing vulnerability completely nails our niche, especially in songs that lean into the genre of indie folk.
As “Wolf” progresses, additional elements are added, such as some deep notes from a bass, but nothing to draw the listener away from the otherworldly soundscape. On the final third, the tempo shifts down a touch, revealing a sparsely decorated guitar and vocal performance that is bound to bring you back to the track for multiple listening sessions.
Kid Tigrrr has managed to win us over with every tune that she’s sent over to us, and pressing play on “Wolf” will provide all the justification you need for that. The track is taken from her new LP, Stoned + Animald, now available everywhere.
