Kellyn Marie Goler - “Second Guessing”

Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Kellyn Marie Goler has just released the strikingly reflective and chilled indie folk track “Second Guessing.”

Second Guessing” is built around the steady groove of warm and harmonically rich acoustic guitar layers. They fill the track with a cosy sense of open texture, whilst little fingerpicked lines shimmer and dance, creating a pleasing intricacy and subtle moments of ear candy.

A beautiful, melodic complexity is also added over certain sections with weaving banjo tones. This element injects a sense of energy into the arrangement, whilst never overpowering the underlying chilled mood. Supporting this foundation is a steady drum beat and the meditative, sustained, and deep tones of the piano.

The vocal performance of Kellyn Marie Goler is soulfully smooth and acts as a lush, clear, and refreshing layer that elegantly cuts through the mix. The performance is enjoyable to hear, rich with authenticity, and brings a pleasing contemporary element to the traditional musical layers over which it gracefully soars.

Lyrically, the track explores the themes of connecting with nature to find oneself. “Second Guessing” is a charmingly thoughtful and laidback folk track that is rich with subtly intricate musical textures. This track is the first single taken from Kellyn Marie Goler’s forthcoming EP.
