Jemma Johnson - “Love Rush”

Jemma Johnson’s new track was pitched to as an Avril Lavigne and Taylor Swift hybrid, but, even without this comparison, “Love Rush” stands on its own as a very catchy, radio-ready tune about the quest for pins and needles. Regardless, since we are already dropping the names of pop sensations, the sentiment in this song is bound to carry the listener off to the beginning of Kelly Clarkson’s career, both in content and ability. While “Love Rush” may not be as spiteful as Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone,” there is no denying that they belong on the same playlist for scorned lovers.

Please do not be alarmed once its chorus gets stuck in your head– even Mark Pusey, drummer for Ed Sheeran, could not avoid this. In fact, he loved the song so much that he ended up playing on it.
