The Grogans - “I Cannot Read Your Mind”

Friends, please fasten your seatbelts before pressing play on the new garage-rocking banger from The Grogans: “I Cannot Read Your Mind.”

This track contains every bit of that dirty, lo-fi sound for which we so often find ourselves seeking in the ocean of modern music. From the initial, gritty guitar chords that are splattered on the frontend of “I Cannot Read Your Mind,” fans of punk rock-infused indie music are in for one hell of a bumpy ride. By the time the rhythm section shows up, after a few distorted bars, we are taken back to time before music was choked to death by modern digital production– you will not find any autotune here, just the primal, savage sound of three dudes enjoying their lives out loud.

Over its three-minute runtime, fans of rock music will be reminded why they ever went to live shows in the first place– it is not at all difficult to imagine this track peeling the paint from the walls of your favorite venue. A quick sonic comparison would be Eagles of Death Metal, but we’re quite certain that fans of The White Stripes’ earlier work will feel particularly comfortable in taking “I Cannot Read Your Mind” for a spin.

So if you find that the coffee just doesn’t seem to be working this morning, pour yourself a mug of The Grogans. “I Cannot Read Your Mind” is going to wake you the f*** up.
