Grace Gachot - “Built To Be Bad”

For those of you looking for some sort of empathetic anthem to go along with the hole where your heart used to be, look no further than the latest track from Grace Gachot, entitled Built To Be Bad.”

Built To Be Bad” opens with the soft keys of a piano and Gachot’s exquisite vocal, documenting the sweetest memories of a failed relationship– something everyone tends to do at the end of every love story. And since this track is allegedly based upon true events, the hearts of all who hear will immediately go out to the narrator as she recalls every lovely moment in heartbreaking detail.

As the chorus approaches and we see all of the terrible things that broke her down, Gachot unleashes the power behind her voice, bringing goosebumps and, simultaneously, compassion for how she chose morality over revenge. Gachot adds that “Built To Be Bad” is “about being fooled, lied to and messed around with endlessly, but still, you can’t find it in you to be cruel to them. Even when you wish you could.”

The song ends in a marvelous crescendo, pushing the limits both sonically and emotionally. If you’ve recently found your relationship on the skids, or if you’re still not quite over a former lover, “Built To Be Bad” is the song you need right now. This is our first time hearing from this UK-based singer-songwriter, but we are hoping that it will not be the last.
