Daley Road and Francisco Sola

Naarm/Melbourne-based duo James Kelly and Hugo Lee, aka Daley Road, have collaborated with Buenos Aires-based singer-songwriter Francisco Sola to bring us the wonderfully cinematic folk sounds of “Lost.”

The track fades in with an ethereal ambience, carving a mellifluous path for the first verse, where Sola begins his remarkably introspective vocal performance. It is quite obvious that a great deal of care has gone into the crafting of “Lost,” with its rich production upon the arrival of the acoustic guitar and subdued rhythm section.

Daley Road take the vocal helm of the second verse, delivering a lush, layered performance that is bound to sweep you directly off of your feet. On the refrain, backing textures of lyrical morsels imbue the arrangement with a vibe that will result in you adding “Lost” to all of your favorite playlists. The track has been produced in such a way that it is very easy to lose yourself within its sound.

A dreamlike dynamic shift falls into position, with otherworldly layers of soothing saxophone and the tones of seemingly infinite keys. “Lost” then crescendos with a more elaborate rhythm, comprised of a full kit, layers upon layers of rolling vocals, and reverse-tape effects that we can confidently say will bring you back to this one for multiple listens.

If you only hear one song today, let it be “Lost,” a remarkable collaboration of blog favorites, Daley Road and Francisco Sola.
