From Brooklyn, New York, CIAO MALZ have just released “Take Me Out of Here,” the latest single from their brand new EP, Safe Then Sorry.
“Take Me Out of Here” begins like a tape-warbled dreamscape of analogue nostalgia, complete with extra-vibey guitars and a soft, slow-paced rhythm that immediately works its way beneath your skin. For depth and weight, the lower register from a bass locks the song into position, and we have a feeling you’ll fall in love with this tune straight out of the gate.
Singer-songwriter Malia DelaCruz takes the helm of this indie music outfit, unveiling a soft, melancholic, and dreamy melody via a delicate vocal performance. Additional vocal layers emerge, saturated in effects that oftentimes allow them to sound as though they are underwater. The entire production resides within the realm of indie pop, but fans of the psychedelic are bound to lose themselves in the trippy ambient atmosphere.
DelaCruz is accompanied by James Chrisman and Felix Walworth, bringing a multi-textured, kaleidoscopic wave of sound to “Take Me Out of Here.” We’ve listened to this thing on a constant loop for days and the harder we press our headphones against our ears, the more sonic treasures we discover.
