Charles Van Kirk from the USA has just released “10 MPH,” a soul-stirring indie folk song inspired by a coast-to-coast bicycle ride across America.

10 MPH” is founded around the soothing, weaving tones of an acoustic guitar, creating a mellow foundation of fluctuating arpeggiating textures. This strikingly intimate song possesses a dreamy sense of ebb and flow, with layers drifting in and out to enhance the reflective and gorgeously vivid vibes.

A drum groove lends a slow cadence, while splashes of orchestral elements impart a sense of elegance. Ethereal synth textures also gently pad the song in key areas. The song culminates in a sophisticated crescendo of sound scaping that perfectly encapsulates the vibrant experience of this journey.

The vocal performance on “10 MPH” is exquisitely rich in harmony. The tender male and female vocals have a lush, breezy, and breathy delivery of the storytelling lyrics.

About the track, Van Kirk adds: “This trip leaves me, among other things, dumbfounded by the vastness of this country… The song ‘10 MPH’ is a collector of dust and gravel, of 100-degree afternoons with roadside ice cream stands, of cheap motels and priceless campsite views, of kind strangers who I’ll probably never see again.”

10 MPH” is a wonderful indie folk song that will leave you enchanted. The track is the first taste of Charles Van Kirk’s upcoming LP, set for release in early September.
