Bridget Rian - “Why did U Lie”

I’m a simple, salt of the Earth kind of guy, but I appreciate nice things, too. Like, you may find me in cargo shorts and tennis shoes staring at all the crystals in a shimmering chandelier. Indie rocker Bridget Rian’s song, “Why did U Lie,” satisfies both parts of my brain. The music of this Nashville native provides an effective, yet unassuming backdrop for the central spectacle that is Bridget’s voice. And by spectacle, I mean it’s spectacular. Emotion exudes from each and every exhaled note. As the song builds in tension, you can hear her heart breaking between the notes of the guitar’s arpeggios. And when the build crashes into an explosion, as though someone just imploded a skyscraper, the cloud of emotions pours out like debris from a once towering relationship. The refrain, “Why did U Lie?,” is hauntingly powerful and I can easily picture a concert hall full of brokenhearted fans who are singing along with teary eyes as Bridget leads the choir, her voice sparkling like a chandelier.

“Rian has received notable support as the Featured Cover Artist for Tidal’s “Rising: Folk” Playlist and placements on Apple Music's "New Country" Playlist, Pandora’s “AMP: Fresh Cuts” Radio, and YouTube Music’s New Alt Indie Playlist. Rian has also been featured on NPR, American Songwriter Magazine, New Noise Magazine, and was selected as an Official Showcasing Artist for SXSW 2022.” I should mention that this song is part of her new EP, Screaming at the Stars, which has four songs that are all worthy of your time.
