Alexander Grandjean - “Bloom”
Determined to help the world find a hint of solace, Danish artist Alexander Grandjean returns to the blog with “Bloom,” the third single from his forthcoming record.
A bit of nature foley opens this tune before making way for the gentle strumming of an acoustic guitar. Grandjean does not make the listener wait too long before he begins his soothing vocal performance, delivered here with a divine harmony to ensure the most glorious of listening experiences.
The warm and weighted notes from a bass emerge as Grandjean slips into his falsetto, revealing the sublime nature of the refrain, complete with those “oooh” vocals that we wish more artists would utilize. The arrangement in “Bloom” is quite sparse, but the multiple layers of vocals bring a magnificent width to its sonic landscape.
For the final third, remarkably ethereal layers of synthy strings sweep through the production, as well as a gentle rhythm to provide lift as “Bloom” reaches the peak of its crescendo. But it is ultimately the phenomenal layers of vocals that will continue to bring us back to this one for multiple listens.
About the track, Grandjean offers: “I think distractions and anxiety have gotten a little bit out of control. I’m here to slow things down and remind myself and everybody else that we need to find ways to live more harmoniously and in sync with nature.” He wrote “Bloom” with Nashville-based Evan Gibb and we hope that you will join us in awaiting the rest of the LP, due for release this November.
